People come to therapy for many different reasons including:

Gaining Skills: I am able to help with building skills to improve confidence, social interactions, communication, setting boundaries, organization, time management, overcoming procrastination, building relationships, managing conflict, assertiveness, coping strategies, and accessing resources.

Dealing with Emotions: Emotions can be challenging especially when they are mixed, really strong or seemingly absent. I strive to provide a warm, safe environment to explore emotions in a way, and at a pace, that fits each person according to their goals. People in therapy often express emotions such as: sadness, anger, shame, fear, stress, worry, numbness, confusion, along with joy, peace, hopefulness, courage, creativity, and thankfulness.

Workplace Goals and Challenges: I can work with you to deal effectively with challenges such as: time management, workplace harassment or bullying, burnout, interpersonal difficulties, work/life balance, working though creative blocks, and transitions such as changing roles, job loss, or retirement.

Academic/Vocational Goals and Challenges: I will open a space for you to explore your purpose and life passion, overcome test and exam related anxiety, perfectionism, procrastination, and homesickness, manage academic pressures, navigate relationship and friendship difficulties, reduce loneliness, and support you in finding resources.

Life Stage Transitions or Changes: Sometimes life changes in ways that are unexpected and it can lead to feeling off balance. Situations such as midlife crisis, divorce, marriage, death of a loved one, loss of relationship, singleness, break up, and "empty nest" can be a focus of therapy. Even positive experiences can be stressful such as starting a new job, starting a new relationship, having a child, moving to a new home, retirement, or achieving a major life goal. It would be my privilege to journey with you in your life changes.

Relationship Concerns: Some clients want to work on building a support system, managing caregiver stress, parenting, making friends, or interpersonal conflicts. All aspects of relationships can be the focus of therapy including: communication, responsibilities and roles, finances, emotional and sexual intimacy, cultural differences, family integration, setting boundaries, and conflict resolution. I am available to be a support as you navigate relational concerns.

Overcoming Traumatic, Abusive or Very Difficult Circumstances: I am trained in providing help and support for very difficult and traumatic circumstances such as: an accident, bullying or harassment, chronic illness or pain, death of a friend, family member or pet, breakups or divorce, culture shock, abuse (physical, mental, emotional, financial, spiritual), being a first responder, or witnessing a crime.

Mental Health: Therapy can be part of a mental health wellness plan to deal with diagnosed mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, phobia, panic attacks, PTSD, OCD, ADHD, and more. Therapy can help with insomnia, body image, self-esteem, feelings of inadequacy, and self-doubt.

These are just some of the areas that I can assist with through therapy.
